I tried it in the developer toolbar and inserted another custom datepicker calendar, but I dont know how to make it update in all instances,it seems it can only individually update. But I need another seperate datepicker for an ‘Expiry date’ in the same document and need it to do the same thing (update in all instances) however I know I cannot insert another from the quickparts section again, without it updating the ‘packed date’ as well. This was great and exactly what I wanted. I have inserted a drop down calendar (datepicker) that updates in all instances if edited, from quickparts>document property >’Publish date’ and then I just changed the title of ‘Publish Date’ in the developer tab properties section, to what I wanted which was ‘Packed date’. Maybe you could help or anyone else that could point me in the right direction. I am using word 2007 and not a very technical user. SelectContentControlsByTitle("Land Area").Item(1)ĪrrData() = Split(oCCPassed.DropdownListEntries(i).Value, "|") SelectContentControlsByTitle("Capital").Item(1) SelectContentControlsByTitle("AB").Item(1) If Application.Version < "14.0" Then Main.SetDeveloperTabActive For example Abbreviatatin, Capital, Land Area etc. You could define lots of data about each state in the value field in the form of a string and delimiter. GetData.pAbr = oCCPassed.DropdownListEntries(i).Value If = oCCPassed.DropdownListEntries(i).Text Then Private Function GetData(ByRef oCCPassed) As ListDataįor i = 1 To With ActiveDocument.SelectContentControlsByTitle(“AB”).Item(1) Private Sub Document_ContentControlOnExit(ByVal CC As ContentControl, Cancel As Boolean)
In your “State” dropdown assign the full state names as “Display Names” and the state abbreviations as the “Values” e.g., You can assign both a text display and a value to each Content Control drop-down list entry.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to use the comments below. It repeats the text as described and is good to go.īy using this technique, you can create very robust form-driven documents.
“” will simply add the tag and not add any default value in the XML.You can add as many of these as you would like as well as add sample text if you wish. Using basic XML, we will create the XML tag “” where the Company name will be stored.
The legacy reference technique also only allows the user to fill in the information in one field they cannot enter it into just any of the occurrences throughout the document and have it update the rest. However, it uses the “legacy” form controls and does not allow you to take advantage of the new controls, such as the date chooser. Then wherever the field would need to be repeated they could hit CTRL-F9 and then enter “” to reference the field. In that scenario, the designer of the form would add the field once and mark it to be bookmarked in the field properties. In Word 2003 and prior this could be done by inserting a form field and then referencing it as a book mark. This helps greatly to ensure fewer errors and improves efficiency when users fill out the form. For instance, with a company name, you may want this information repeated automatically throughout the document rather than manually entering the company name into every place it is needed. When creating Microsoft Word-based forms there may be a need to have a form field repeated throughout the whole document.
